TENSORS FOR FLANGE CONNECTIONS
Tensors for flange connections are devices that can be interposed in a flange connection between studbolts-nuts that and the same flange. It has the objective to provide this connection with the elasticity needed to absorbdilatations and/or contractions. At the same time, it also maintains the strength which guarantees the constant sealing of the connection.
In extreme working conditions, we can be sure that connections won’t lose strength, avoiding leaks from the piping inside fluid thanks to this device.
In spite of variation from external or in their own material conditions, tensors for flange connections guarantee gas and fluids that can be corrosive or contaminating to the environment remaining correctly canalized.
These tensors contain a plane washer joined to a shaft. This shaft is used to guide the disc springs stack DIN 2093 (DIN 2093 standard), which control the strength of the assembly. Usually gaskets manufacturer offers this kind of strength as the best one for the gasket’s functioning. Disc springs number will depend on displacement variation we can expect on critic conditions.(studbolts length and thermic differential)
The other part required by this device is a hardened plane washer which is used to block disc springs stack.
These applications like most of tensors can be indoor or outdoor. For outdoor service, the covering of some anticorrosive treatment is completely necessary to these fixed parts. As much as disc springs are made of stainless steel or at least they are recoated of a preventive treatment similar to these fixed parts. In case of one of the two elements is not treated it can be affected by corrosion. In relation to dimensions, they can be adapted to almost every application but it’s necessary to contact with our technical department to ensure their best functioning.
