Springs Din 2093 temperature and loosening.
As we have already said in the article before, the Disc Springs Din 2093 and all different types of springs are exposed to a process of loss of strength denominated loosening.
This process apart from the influence of Its daily use, of the pressure levels which we use it, it's reinforced with the temperature increment.
With the next example we pretend to show the importance of select the right material to a temperature application; always depending on the precision that we want. Usually people consult us until which temperature can be exposed a standard spring in 51CrV4. The answer is until 100 ºC. It doesn’t mean that it works as same at 20 ºC than at 100 ºC, as we can see it in the next graphic:
In the graphic, the time as we can see has a minimum influence compared with the temperature which has a major influence in this process.
These values answer to real tests about standard pieces in steel.Real values for special materials of higher temperature are not known. But we can affirm that depending on the material, we can achieve values of loosening lower than the steel values in the same temperature and the same compression level.
To learn more about our disc springs, its operating and the Din 2093 Disc Springs standard, you can find all information here:
The Disc Spring, as well as its loosening, it may also be affected by other factors. These factors can be the fatigue or the corrosion depending on the work conditions.
